I heard that there are salsa lessons in Daegu. Anyone know where? I'd love to pick up salsa again. Laughing

Here's a map to a salsa club that some instructors hang out at, just west of Jungangno-negori.

This one has lessons and is in behind McDonald's just down from Migliore.

Babalu's is another salsa spot that a number of latin GIs go to, and the owners offer lessons. I don't have a map, but it's on the same street as the north entrance of Kyungpook Ntl University hospital by samdeok-negori. 2 blocks east from the hospital entrance. The owners speak english as I recall and their number is 011-810-4070, if you get lost.

When I lived in Daegu, I went to Babalu's a few times, but that was the extent of it.

The Korean word for diarrhea sounds like salsa: . Just thought you'd want to know. Good luck with the dancing.

Bump. I went to Babalus twice in the past two weeks. In fact I just got back. Sore feet! It's good, people are quite friendly, has a short lesson at the beginning, but it's an older, sparse crowd and I'm the only weigook there! No Latin G.I.'s in sight. Wink

One lady told me about another good salsa club across from a 'Han Il Theatre.' I think it may be 'Latin Club Salsita.' Judging by their website's pics, they don't have any weigooks or English lessons either. Any other weigooks here dance salsa or have more info?

I can see this is an old thread.I am interested in taking some salsa classes, and Babalu's seems to be the only place I can find that have classes that will fit my schedule.(looking for a Saturday class)

This thread seems to suggest that the place isn't too busy, but more recently I have heard that the place is very crowded, though I am not sure if she meant for the lessons, or just regular open hours.

Is anyone currently around the board these days familiar with this place in recent times? Any ideas about how crowded the lessons are, or the price tag that might go along with them?
