I'll be heading to Korea in a couple of weeks, and I've been trying to find info on the big 3 consoles in Korea- Xbox, PS2, Gamecube. I've gathered that their certainly available, but I was wondering what the basic price would be for any one of these systems new (I don't game enough to bother with a modded one). Also, if I got, say, a new gamecube in Korea, , could I bring it back to Canada and buy games here which would work or do they have a region code like DVD's? Can you get english games without much difficulty (especially RPG's?) Any info would be useful.

Yes, they all have region codes.

They are similarly priced to what they are in Canada.

Each game varies on supported languages. To get a game that is primarily in English will be tough however, there is a black market for pirated games which you can also make for yourself provided you have a DVD burner.

Trust me, you're going to want to get your system chipped, especially if you are planning to take it home with you at the end of your stay. This will allow you to play English titles and continue to use it once back in Canada with region 1 discs.

If its a couple of weeks... you might have time to pick up a XBOX 360 before you swing down here... that would be my suggestion. Then keep the 360 running with LIVE and the new games coming out... then pick up an older XBOX when time allows and have it modded so you can mess around and get a bundle of games for cheap.

Thats my plan anyways... Smile Hopefully a buddy of mine is coming to Korea in a month or so and can hook me up with the transport of a 360... now that would be sweet...

Hey... what do you think the Fed Ex shipping would be on sending an XBOX 360 from Canada to the ROK guys?
