When teaching adults, espcially business men, is it easier for women? |

There was one guy I taught in one of my classes who would subtly hit on me during class, and this was even after he had told me he was married. He would mention his girlfriend, too. Now, he told me once "My 'girlfriend' IS my wife!" but come on now...I'm not too sure about that.
Also in class once when we were talking about making requests, using "could" and "would" he once asked me "Could you kiss me?" I said NO.
We had all gone to a norebang too once (as part of our university's suggestion we go on "field trips" with our students) and he told me during some slow song another student was singing that he "always wanted to dance with a beautiful woman." I turned him down again.
Now, I rebuffed him a lot, trying to see it as only a joke, but I never would ever be in a situation where I would be alone with that guy!
I have to wonder though, and this has never happened to me, but I am just curious. OK, let's say someone has a REALLY creepy guy (or gal) in their class, and the teacher one day rips the student apart for all the advances the teacher has had to put up with. If the person complained to the institute and then withdrew his or her money from the course and said "I will never learn here again," would the teacher be yelled at by the school for causing them to lose money, or would they actually side with the teacher, and understand? I shudder to think that these things could happen to a teacher and the school is only concerned with its bottom line. |

I was really scared to teach adults, it's always mostly male students. I was offered a job at LG and I strung the recruiter along for weeks because of all the bad things I had heard from friends. But I knew I couldn't do another year of teaching kids at a hagwan. So I took the job at LG. And I couldn't be happier there! The students are all wonderful. I have some one on one executives and some larger groups that are about my age. Among them all there is only one female student. By the way, don't let my name fool you. I am a girl, and a young one at that. My point is that it isn't always that bad. Of course it happens. And I can't say if my case is in the rare or common category. I love my students. They are always respectful, appreciative, helpful, generous, and friendly. I love teaching adults. |

And for her sins CLG is now teaching an adult class at her hagwon which at the moment is guys fresh out of their military service, and a year older than myself. The korean teachers think they are very handsome, and many of the swoon when they come in. I'm a bit uncomfortable teaching them basically because the oldest kids I've taught up to this point have been 17.
We did a lets introduce each other session where I got them to say who they are, how old they are, where their from, and what they like. One of them said of the other on the last question women. They natter in korean a lot so I'm not sure of what they are saying, maybe I'll just continue operating in an ignorance is bliss kind of way.
