Last night I was shocked to hear the word assuage during an episode of Lost. So I got to thinking: do these socks look gay or not? I mean, what are other words I can't recall ever hearing on TV, in a Movie, or while tied down by an insane Nazi dentist?

I'm guessing you don't watch The Simpsons all that much.
Joe Thanks doesn't either-but you're sane, he's not. |

Your choice of word has become part of the common vernacular thaks to The Simpsons |

I don't recall ever hearing the word "doldrums" on TV. Of course, it's been several years since I watched Dawson's Creek. |

I recall hearing the word assuage on an episode of "Bottom".
How about loquacious? That's a damn cool word, but no one ever uses it. |

I used to work at a bank and I met a customer whose last name is "Lokacious". I asked him if people tell him he talks too much, and he gave me an annoyed smile and a huff, looked straight down, and said, "Yep." Haha. |
