I'll be there in a few weeks and am bringing the PS2 with me, since it's so small and portable, but is there anything I should know before bringing it? Will there be any issues besides voltage that I should be concerned about? And also, can I just buy a Korean-style plug and swap it out with my current a/c cord, or will I need an adapter of some kind?

You need to get a converter, because the voltage down here is different. I had a friend who tried to skimp out and just bought an adaptor for the end of his power cord... he fried his XBOX. I got my adaptor for my XBOX at Walmart... it was like 30,000 won. |

You should be looking for a "step-down converter." A good one will already have the right socket for your plug. |

I'm guessing you have a slimline PSTwo with the external power supply?
Does it say something like "110-240V" on it?
If so you only need a replacement power cable, cost: a dollar or two.
If not, you need the converter like the others said. |

Don't forget that Korean-region games and DVDs won't work in it. |

You can get it 'chipped' down in Yongsan. Not sure on the price (a friend had it done to his). Once it's chipped you can play any region game/DVD on it, including the cheap-ass black-market games from Yongsan. |

I've been told that the new slimmer version PS2s can't be modded when I was last in Yongsan. Maybe they were just trying to get rid of all their old systems. I don't know. |

On the topic, could someone send me instructions on where to get my PS2 modded in Yongsan? Thanks! |
