So if I understand correctly Neteller cannot be used in Korea? and the only way to transfer funds to the casino account in by korean credit card?

this questions has been lurking in my mind for some time now..it's not a decision breaker on whether to go to korea or not..but it would be nice to be able to play over there.

Are there many home games in Busan or Daegu? And what about the casinos..are there poker rooms?

Thanks folks

It doesn't seem that anything Korean can be used. Best to either a) play on a North american credit card or b) wire funds to netteller who then transfer to the casino from your account in Korea. I did that on Friday and the funds showed up in my account this morning.(Sunday). But at least you can play from here, Korea hasn't bocked any poker ips yet.
As far as games here go, it seems that $ can't change hands legally but there are apparently card rooms where you can buy in and get "prizes" if you win. Not my idea of a good time-"Show me the money"
I think there are some private games around but I haven't found any, besides I prefer tournament all in formats that's why online poker sites are the best if you can't play a North American live tournament.

Oooops. My previous post about pay pal was incorrect. The other posters are right. You can not use pay pal anymore.

However, you can use a 'virtual visa'. Basically, you use your actual Visa to place money on a Virtual Visa account, and then you use your Virtual Visa to make deposits to poker sites.

The virtual visa website is...

https://www.epassporte.com/

Fyi. Having a small tournament this weekend (Nov. 5th), which will be followed by a limit game.

Send PM if interested.

If you have a north american credit card all you have to do is fax or email them a copy of the credit card and your passport and everything will be fine.

Party poker is good, but I like pokerroom - there is no 50 min deposit and cash out. I think its like 10 us. Checks over 25 bucks will be sent for free.

When I opened my account on Poker Stars neither VISA nor Master Card allowed transfers to any online gambling sites. Maybe that's only a US thing. I directly wired the funds from my US bank account before I came here and it works fine (despite a recent law making it illegal for Americans to use such sites). *shrug*
