I tell them that the /z/ is an angry sounding /s/. That and showing them what a "Jew" is in the dictionary tends to get a very good sounding "zoo" out of them. Very Happy I've had several quite Embarassed to learn what they were saying.

I stand corrected.

But then.. why did I find this definition in two dictionaries? (different publishers, too)
