The immigration crap Americans face in Korea is reciprocity at its finest. |
Not so: US can visit without a visa at all but Koreans have to jump through hoops to get a simple tourist or business visit visa.
When it comes to work/residence permist, US citizens are treated the same as other nationalities (except Chinese) and get such visas with relative ease usually within a few days of application. |

well after all that, it seems my wife actually isn't a pregnant terrorist hooker. that's a real weight off my shoulders, i can tell you. as a follow up to my story, we went through the buisness of applying for an immigrant visa, and then went back again to reapply for the non-immigrant visa. okay. congratulations on your wedding. have a good trip. this will be mailed to your house.
and indeed it was. the very next day, my wife recieved her passport with a non-immigrant visa good for the next ten years! needless to say, i'm happy as can be, and well worth all of the time and money we spent, but why give us all the hassle about coming back if they're going to issue us a ten year visa?
anyway, congrats to us! it will be a cajun christmas after all! |
