I think this has been brought up before but it's pretty cool so I thought I'd mention it here Cool

If you need to send huge files (up to 1 gig) you can use YouSendIt at yousendit.com. Good alternative to p2p if you want to pass files onto friends and family.

Cheers,
ejmlab

If you set up an ftp server and have your computer running most of the time anyway, it cuts out the wasted time of you uploading and then them downloading when they can download directly from you. They can download through internet explorer or another browser, too, if they can't figure out FTP. I'm a little weary of yousendit.

Yeah,

I hear ya'. Ftp is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately, my home account is behind the company LAN (housing complex) so they block the conspicuous ports. I was also a big fan of WASTE before moving behind the LAN.

Just use a different port. Waste has an interesting name. I think it was taken out of a Pynchon novel. The Crying of Lot 49, possibly.

Yeah,

Waste is great but after setting up a network of peers I found out that all of my friends were leeches. Alot of take but not a heck of alot of give. Laughing

Cheers,
