I miss the cheese that I can buy in the UK. Where can I find a real Camenbert that is so ripe its almost walking out of the box (not the C-rap the sell in emart in a tin that tastes like flour!). What about proper blue cheese like the Stilton back home. Any where to find a cheddar that packs a proper punch rather than the mild Aussie stuff in the supermarkets.
Dont think I can face xmas with out access to a decent cheese selection, especially as I dont have an oven and I doubt Ill find a Turkey to cook even if I had one.
Do any resturants in Seoul do xmas Dinners on the 25th?

Costco is your friend for cheese, they have real cheddar, mild, medium, sharp and extra sharp. of course, they are too stupid to charge more for the sharp, so extra sharp and mild are the same price.
not only that, but compared to the crap in the local stores, it is a steal. you can get a big brick of cheddar for 9,000, or 20 slices of crap for 5,000....
they have a lot of other cheeses, i am not sure which because i just go for the cheddar.
there is a Costco right next door to Sangbong terminal.

Here's a thread that covered a lot of last year's xmas dinners and parties.

Gecko's in Itaewon will likely be doing a dinner again. Some of the big hotels may not do traditional turkey dinners in their christmas buffets, as it's more of an event thing for kids. Might need to call in advance to confirm.

Another option:

My first Christmas here I got together with 7 or 8 other friends and we had dinner catered by a hotel in Seoul. It was only around 12,000 won or so (if memory serves) and it was a fantastic meal. I've never liked the idea of having Christmas dinner at a restaraunt (too impersonal), but this solved the problem of having to find all the ingredients to cook a proper feast.

The 'cheddar' at costco is american style cheese..IE its just processed cheese slices in a big block...

I dont think you will find any cheeses like those in the UK.

The cheddar at Costco is not processed cheese like sliced cheese. It's Tillamook cheese and one of my favorites (can you tell I'm in Oregon?)

http://www.wellcook.com has a fairly large selection. Just be sure to order a coldpack along with any refrigerated goods so that they're not gross by the time they reach you.

Think I will check out Gekos in Itaewon and def' visit Costco's 'pour fromage' .
Its strange that Vietnam and Cambodia have shops with real french cheese and fresh baggettes on every corner thanks to colonial times but it never spread into China and over to Korea. Most of my students say they hate cheese (apart from on a pizza of course). Luckily the American influence here has brought some of our favorites into supermarkets.
Has anyone been to the Geko cafe in Phomn Penh? It is a welcome break from most of the food in Cambodia/Vietnam.
