Koreans were holding a demonstration out front of my building today. And when I say 'today' I mean that very loosely. What I actually mean is from 1:30 a.m. until my rage had built up to a sufficient degree that I was compelled to go out and tell them to shut the hell up and go home.

So, here's the gist. They're all (justifiably) ticked off about the company that provides the heating to our apartment complex. I get that. I understand it. You want to protest? Do it in the morning. Which is exactly what I said to this large group of jerk-offs, albeit in more colorful language. So, they left. I'm sure they're all pretty pissed off at me now that they've gotten over being embarrassed. Anyway, mission accomplished, they're gone.

What I do not understand is the kind of mentality that leads a group of roughly 15-20 reasonably sane people to circle a parking lot at 1:30 in the morning and shout into a bullhorn. I'm not sure what effect they were going for, but I can reasonably infer, based upon my own reaction, the effect they achieved was 'severely pissed off.'

So, that's the first "WTF?!?" moment I've had in quite some time. Just thought I'd share. And now I can go back and flirt with falling asleep for the next 2 hours.

Before Homer says " It's the right of every Korean to demonstrate, where ever and however they please, this isn't Canada you know", let me pat you on the back and say well done, you did exactly what I would have done. In fact I feel a little jealous that you had the opportunity to do it not me.

Despite assertions to the contrary by some posters, it is my firm belief that Koreans in general have scant regard to others beyond their immediate interests. It's a dog eat dog world over here with a ME, ME , ME attitude!

While agree with your's and the OP's sentiments - hell, I would have been out there with a bucket of cold water - I don't necissarily agree with the second part. NIMBY protests happen all over the world.

Good for you for telling them to F off. I would've called the police. Or heated a vat of boiling oil. I'm having visions of Quasimoto in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" right now...
