Hi guys,

Next week is a lesson about directions, turn left/right at ................ go straight on etc. The idea WAS to do an information gap and then have the quickest kids walk a life size maze blindfolded in the attempt to win candy.

Now I got the second bit nicely mapped out, but I'm a bit befuddled with the first exercise. My kids just cheat, and last time when I stated profusely NOT to cheat, monitored and ripped up anyones I found copying they did neway, the coteachers did NOTHING to stop this.

So does anyone have any directional games, activities?

I had my kids guide me around. That was fun, and they didn't even have me walk into a wall or anything. Wink Also I made a map for them, so that they had to write out things like "The PC room is across from the restaurant", wirte directions for me to walk from my home to school, etc.

I've always had a lot of success with this: Have one student come to the front of the room. I tell them "turn right....walk...go straight....stop...turn left..." etc. (Teaching "turn around" is good, too!)

Then, they sit down and give the NEXT student directions. They have their classmates walking out the door, jumping out the window (NOT REALLY!), kissing or punching each other....

The LAST student gets to tell ME what to do. Makes for a great class!!

Since your coteachers sound useless, get the kids to give them directions(rather than you) around the room (with a blindfold on, if you're keen! Wink )

Then yell, "Go home!"
