I was viewing this posting as something of a joke, looking at the photo, and a swipe at Americans in general.
Even still, a few interesting things have come out of this. I regularly write cover letters of such a length. Should I be writing shorter cover letters? What about people who are applying for university jobs? Or university jobs where the e-mail address seems to have them going to a foreigner? |

Is that your normal smile? You look a little bit like a crazy waygook in this picture! Maybe a picture taken from a bit further back would be better. |

Okay. The pic does need some work. Make it a little lighter and move the camera away a little and button up your top button and it would be much better. Some of the other pics you had up before could've been used if they had only you in them and if you were dressed a bit more formally(I'm talking about the ones on your uni's grounds) - business casual would've been fine.
Your cover letter's layout is not half-bad. Be careful of the content. No, you don't want to say anything negative about yourself in it, but you also don't want to make yourself seem to be Mister Perfect. Places like YBM may actually have a foreigner looking at your application materials. I did some of the hiring at one of my previous workplaces(one of the big, crappy places). The advice I can give you is be friendly, yet professional. Be concise, not wordy. Use good grammar and a visually-pleasing layout - traditional business(block-style) seems to always be the winner. Most importantly, be honest.
This one's not terrible, but I'd recommend putting a colon after the salutation rather than the dash:

You can find some other pretty good samples here:

This one is a bit facitious, but it's telling the truth:

I believe that Word has templates that you can follow that aren't too bad(Letter Wizard).
Best of luck/skill! |

OK, how about this one?
lol! jk!
Seriously, though, thanks a bunch for all the advice, everyone
I guess I need to buy more professional-looking clothes, since all I have is a few shirts like that one, but my neck is too large for me to button up the top of that shirt
Once I get a job there, should I take a whole wardrobe with me? Will it be possible to get XL-sized shirts and 36-38 waist pants in Korea?
I noticed that my stuff is on the higher end of what's sold in Seattle, whereas in Spokane the sizes go up to like 4xl
It's not hard to imagine going to Korea and never finding clothes anywhere near my size |
