One of the things that seems to depress me more and more is what seems to be the increase in fanaticism. What I mean by this is the idea that one opinion is correct and that the other side is automatically wrong/evil. A fanatic is unwilling to listen to the other side, find the mistakes in his/her own ideas, and can't see the humor in his/her beliefs.
I don't know about other countries, all I know is about the United States, since that is my own country. I have heard about Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and others. But let's not forget the liberals who haven't come across as very liberal. Michael Moore may be a very funny and intelligent filmmaker, but has he actually tried improve the level of the debate, or has he too degenerated into name calling? Al Franken, another who goes for name calling. As a liberal, aren't we supposed to be more open, more willing to change and look for better ways?
On this website, I've seen conservative fanatics who will say their point but not listen to the other's point. They paint all muslims as terrorists and won't listen to other ideas why terrorism is happening right now. They forget that Christians have been very willing to use terror and bombings also.
But liberals on this website are no better. C'mon, can't you find anything good about the U.S? Or is it easier to accept that the United States is evil? Do you really think that capitalism is the root of all problems. Do you need to keep repeating the same boring cliche about George W? (we get it already, we know he's a moron)
Can't you listen to the hate you're spewing?

I am a liberal also.
I guess my problem with liberals is that some seem so close minded or quick to judge. It seems to be against what being liberal means.

I think what we are all witnessing is the total breakdown of the traditional left. The traditional East Coast media stranglehold on the media has been totally blown to pieces by the Internet. It was smalltime pajama bloggers that blew the cover on CBS' attempted smaer piece with forged documents on the eve of the election.

The ivory towers have been stormed The democrats can't convince blacks that Republicans are racists, despite their attempts. Unions are now more likely to be white collar government workers who vote Democrat to protect their own taxpayer subsidized pensions. Women are freeing themselves from the mental shackles of feminism to the shock and dismay of the Maureen Dowds of the world.


It all adds up to an increasingly bitter and delusional Left. The right, even after decades of being marginalized by the coastal elites, seems rather content to watch it all.

Bipartisanism is friggin' idiotic in the extreme. I utterly detest the current events forum because of it. The liberals this, the conservatives that. STFU. EAT IT.
