I walked a bit around Hongdae by myself the other night. Normally I'm not huge on the night club scene but I had to check this place out for kicks. Boy was I in for a good round of entertainment...

Glamor b-itches dolled up in skirts and too much makeup struting around like their kimchee shit doesn't stink, Canadian idiot 23-year-old English teachers with slightly crooked baseball caps and gold chain necklaces looking like they hump the nearest fire hygrent if it snapped them a second look, scoungy looking western men happily skipping around from place to place clutching their "trophy" girlfreinds like their hands were welded together, druken Korean gangtsa-wannabie losers screaming at each other in the streets, and of course the token six black guys imported in to bring the hood straight out to Seoul, dawg. I almost keeled over in luaghter from the ludicriousness of the whole situation.

Seriously, what is the fasicanation some of you have with that place? Did any of you ever leave East Butt-F--ck Ontario once before you got here?

I used to live there and I vehemently resisted the urge to move out. Then slowly I realised the only things I liked about the neighbourhood were Skunk Hell and the park.

By the way, if you got hit in the park by fireworks on Saturday night, I'm sorry.

Hongdae is a good place for people watching.

You can meet so many stupid and ridiculous people.

Hongdae and Sincheon are fine once or twice per month. I'm not very good at staying awake beyond 3am, but it's a great place to dance with random K-birds. My main gripe with Hongdae is that it's absolutely flithy on saturday nights. Last time I went, the streets were so covered in trash it was disgusting!

It's the only place in Korea I can go to catch good underground and independent music. 'nuff said. what's the fascination with you calling judgment on anything that doesn't fit into your scheme of things? "adventureman".....sure....

You should see Hongdae on Sunday mornings. It's not a safe place to wear new shoes, if you know what I mean.

By the way, Sincheon and Hongdae are on opposite sides of the city from each other. Sinchon is a lot closer.
