Hey! I'm looking to do this:

Fri. Jan. 27/06 (night) -- fly Seoul to Phuket

Tues. Jan 31/06 (afternoon/evening) -- fly Phuket to Seoul

Alternately I might have to fly in/out of Bangkok, but I'd rather go straight to Phuket to save precious travel time.

-- How much should I expect to pay? This is during Lunar New Years, so I'm guessing it'll be more than usual.

-- How far in advance should I book my air tickets?

-- Which travel agent would you recommend? (Shoestring?)

Thanks,

There is only one airline operating non-stop flights between Seoul Incheon and Phuket. It is called "Orient Thai" airlines (not to be confused with Thai Airways). They only operate the non-stop service a few times a week (not every day).

Korean Air and Asiana do not currently fly to Phuket.

In summary, you will most likely have to transit via Bangkok in both directions on Thai Airways (which flies ICN-BKK 2 or 3 times each day).

you'll probably have to fly into BKK, but you can fly from there to Phuket with Air asia, who're very inexpensive.

Ok lets say that I'm just looking for flights to/from Bangkok (forget the Phuket stuff). The same questions remain:

-- How much should I expect to pay? This is during Lunar New Years, so I'm guessing it'll be more than usual.

-- How far in advance should I book my air tickets?

-- Which travel agent would you recommend? (Shoestring?)

if you haven't booked now for Sollal you won't get a seat. Figure 700,000 min for ICN-BKK if you can get a seat. Chusok and Sollal book out months in advance
