So my all time fav. MMORPG is coming out as a downloadable. I'm a bit excited, but my lousy laptop won't play it.

This means I gotta go to a pc bang and play it. Unfortunately I'm looking at a good 4/5 hours download time each time i wanna have a play. My mate played EQ in that fashion before but it kinda sucks.

My question is this, is there anyway to ask the owner to install it on one pc and not have it wiped when I log off. That way I dont have to RE-download it if I wanna play, and its not illegal as its a free trial to download on the inet and i'd have an account.

So how do I go about asking that. Could i stick the files on a DVD and bring it in with me? (Its been a long time since I went to a PC Bang)

Thanks!

Chris

It all depends how friendly - and reliable - the PC Bang owner is. Generally the answer is no way in hell, but sometimes you get lucky.
You could burn it to DVD if the machines have DVD-ROMs (many do these days though some don't) and reinstall it from that each time.
But given how much time you'd be spending on it, it might be worth considering buying a computer to play it. Just something to consider.

Obswipe: Get a girlfriend!

You could, I suppose, buy a portable hard drive and keep it on that. And then just jack in via the USB port of your host computer.

I'm not looking to spend all my time on it, thinking in the region of a few hours a week. I'll stick it on a DVD/CDs and just copy it across when i want to play. A new computer, which is good enough to play this will cost at least 650/700k and I'm only here another 6months so there ain't much point.

Thanks for ur responses.

As opposed to someone who feels the necessity for crapping on a complete stranger because he likes to play a computer game? ROTFLMAO

Most don't say boo
especially if you are a regular

do check if they have DVD drives first (and they are working!)
as I have seen them disconnected !

Automatic deletion of patron installed software is pretty much SOP - u have to get them to install w Admin permission - possible, but most staff couldn't tell ya the difference between a mouse and a trackball.

Yeah i installed it fine and its stayed on there since I first installed. Unfortunately it sucks donkey balls so I'm not playing it any more. Mebbe I'll give CoV a crack, tho the free Dark and Light game looks awesome.

Oh and lay off Magicwolfman. This is a man whose life is so worthless and pathetic the only enjoyment he gets is from belittling others and he can't even do it in real life. Feel sorry for him.
