Big news coming out of Australia is that 15 men suspected of planning a terror attack were arrested in large-scale simultaneous raids throughout northern and north-west Melbourne, and southwestern Sydney in the early morning. One man arrested in Melbourne was a controversial and outspoken Muslim cleric. While, one man was shot in Sydney after firing at police whilst fleeing. Details are fairly sketchy but news is that the men were assembling chemicals and planning a significant attack on Australian soil.

Later, a group of 5 supporters of the men arrested in Melbourne attacked a cameraman filming them outside court where the men were facing their initial hearing (not a bright idea if half the nation's media is assembled in front of you and fliming your attack). Video footage is here. |
