Hi all,

I went to the Seoul air show three weekends ago, and managed to get around to posting some pics online...

Here's a sneak preview:

The show was held at Seongnam air base in South-east Seoul, home of No.15 Tactical Air Transport Wing, No. 39 Tactical Reconnaissance Group and No. 35 Combined Group (VIP transport).

The show saw the debut of Korea's new F-15Ks, and it's new T-50 supersonic trainer.

The "air" part of the air show was a bit sparse; most of the types that Korea operates were only on static display, and the much touted Su-31 never showed up. However, there's no such thing as a bad air show for a dyed-in-the-wool airplane geek like myself.

Check out the rest of the photos here:

Sorry about the lack of zoom on my little camera.

Bear in mind the commentary is aimed at my students whose English is pretty basic, so it's a bit "D!ck and Jane-ish".

For those of you interested in WW2 aircraft, I visited the Wanaka Warbirds Museum when I vacationed in New Zealand in August. You can see airworthy examples of some rare aircraft on the 2nd and 4th pages of my vacation album here:

Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. Cheers.

By the way, why can't you say "D!ck" on this board? What if my name was D!ck? Political Correctness: Just Say No!

Wow, 93 views and no replies? Is that some kind of record?

If I wasn't so self-actualised I could feel quite hurt. Maybe I should have entitled it something more controversial like:

"CANADIANS SUCK! (and some pictures from the Seoul Air Show)"

(Actually I love Canadians. In a brotherly way. Not in a gay way.)

Love the photos, would have loved to see the Su-31 though. I hear they're amazing birds.

Nice work.. :)

It's just so bizzare on so many levels isn't it? It's a postcard that must date from the late 60s or early 70s. These fellas have been working on that "Dynamic Korea" thing for a long time. I guess this was an early prototype Very Happy

Sure wouldn't want to live in those apartments in the background of your pics.

Because of the noise? Personally I'd prefer it over the yapping mutts and propaganda trucks that I get now. But then I like aeroplanes. Cool
