There's a lot of stuff open to the public, including rock concerts and the frivolous demonstration, etc.
Anyone know where to find out timetables and exact location information? |

I haven't been able to find any information online about the happenings, but they do include from what I hear:
some kind of banner/flag display on Haeeundae Beach
fireworks, possibly nightly
a rock festival
and others. |

Book Exhibition Opens in Pusan
PUSAN (Yonhap) . A Korean literature exhibition Friday opened in the main venue of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Pusan, presenting local novels and essays in languages used by the APEC countries.
The exhibition displays 48 books that have been translated into English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Japanese and Vietnamese. Six hundred copies of their English and Spanish versions are to be distributed for free to visitors.
We see the APEC as an occasion for us to publicize Korean literature. Maybe not the APEC leaders, but officials and journalists may pick a copy of them, and we expect that could have an impact in their countries, said Kwon Se-hoon from Korea Literature Translation Institute, a public agency that organized the event.
The exhibition takes place on the sidelines of the Nov. 12-19 APEC forum hosted by this southern port city.
Books are displayed in a booth across the international media center of the APEC venue, BEXCO, until Nov. 20. |

Just did a bit of web searching... There is a counter-forum called the Busan International People's Forum being held in Busan in conjunction with APEC. I don't have any details on it though.
Also on Friday Nov. 18th there will be a huge protest.. Story:

Finally, heres a link to a website with what looks to be comprehensive info on demonstrations and whatnot that will be going on:
http://antiapec.org/
Its all in Korean and the link to the English site doesn't seem to be working. |
