That and people hear things and start spouting it out like it is a fact.

hey guys

i've been reading these F2 visa threads with a lot of interest.

there's an enormous difference between what people are saying is required, so i was wondering if anyone can link to the official documentation?

i haven't found any relating to the new F2 visa changes.

i suppose that would clear things up! Very Happy

cheers

dave

My best advice you you, Hater Depot and magicwolfman is to never trust anyone in a forum discussion until you have checked the facts out for yourself. That being said, simply click the three links that I put in my one of my previous posts on this thread (they will take you directly to the areas of the immigration site with the information you are seeking).

Are rules different for women married korean men and men married korean women?

I went to renew my E7 after I got married and my visa was up. Hubby went with me and we got his hojockdongbun with us because we thought we would need it for the E7, seeing it was his company anyway.

When we got there, they found out we were married and asked us if we wanted to get the F2 at the same time. We asked what it was for blah blah and they told us. We needed only my husband's hojockdongbun to prove that I was married to him - well, we also faxed them our wedding certificate from the British Embassy but that was it. I got my F2 3 days afterwards - valid for one year. This was the Daejeon Immi.

Wanderer - I believe that the rules have also changed for permanent residency. If you have your F2 for more than 2 years, you can apply for an F5, which means that you no longer need to renew your visa or get multiple reentry each time you renew that visa. I have yet to get it done, but I am going to do it!

My wife was mistaken. It was not for four years. It is for only one year, so I guess that hasn't changed. Sorry for the confusion.
