The cause of modern global conflicts and world-wide despair: stickers. More specifically- those stuck onto new pots and pans. Even more specifically: those stickers that won't bloody well come off.

Bought a new saucepan and frying pan to replace the ones which recently and somehow simultaeneously became handle-less. Took 'em home tonight in antcipation of ramyeon and a good heat-clogging fry up..... and couldn't remove the bloody stickers... you know the ones- with the barcode and pictures of lovely shiny fresh food on 'em. Just couldn't shift 'em. Tried soaking 'em. Nope...no joy. Eventually just burned off (using the gas jet) the stickers from the pan bottom. Lovely smell of burning plastic and now only charcoal remnants. The inside stickers however were another story. Even tried using a flame thrower made from a handy spray can of cooking oil. Nope.... only discoloured the things and probably rendered the non-stick coating non-non-stick.... Eventually (due to growling stomach) resorted to scratching the crap out the pan with a fork. Bloody heck.... makes ya wanna lob a few missiles at some neighbouring innocent country or something....

Don't get me started on those indestructable dept store tags they put on underwear........

Soaking them won't work. You have to use a sponge - one of those with plastic mesh cover so it gives some friction - and some washing up liquid and basically just scrub the stickers off.

Make sure you take the top part off, first, so only a thin layer of paper and the glue part remain..

Trust me, it works. That's how I do it.

A little lighter fluid will disolve the glue.
