My computer is, um, having problems, and I was thinking about taking it to Johnny Computer. Do you guys know if they're trustworthy or not too expensive. Also do any of you know if they'll install English XP on my puter for me? I don't know how, and I'm terrified I'll screw up my computer again.

Trustworthy, yes. Too expensive, yes. The guy is a little shop, and has to survive by taking a piece out of your ass.

If you are only interested in doing a clean install and not saving anything on your hard drive, then you have nothing to lose with just popping the disk in yourself and giving it a try. It ain't that hard.

buddy of mine had some work done by johnny. expensive, but did the work well.
if you don't know anything about computers, then you might be better off having him do the work. on the other hand, you'll learn a lot if you do it yourself.

Who/where is this Johnny computer?
I just started having computer problems, and while I'm afraid I might mess up my computer if I try to fix it, I also tend not to trust anyone else touching it either.
Does he speak English, and do you think he'll mind if I hover?

Ladies, if you post your problems here someone WILL be able to give you step by step instructions as to how to fix it. At your fingertips you have some unbelievably knowledgable experts (pangit, gord, busaljo, et al).

never had a problem I couldnt fix..
and I am not pc whiz.. all the answers are online.. just look.
of course if for some reason you have really screwed up your hardware then yes maybe you need help..

To give you an idea of his prices, he quoted me 300,000 won to switch out my laptop cd drive with a dvd player. Not a burner, just a player!

I paid 550,000 for the whole laptop!

Don't forget about Solutions across from McDonald's and beside the Turkish Kebab place in Itaewon. The owner is named Dave and he and his assistant are pretty helpful. You could compare prices I guess. They fixed our laptop for pretty cheap.
