I am planning on doing a 2 week winter camp immediately after my contract ends, and then going home to the states after that....with the intention of never returning Wink

However, I just read the contracts from several possible winter camps, and they all state that the money will be transferred to my Korean bank acct. within 10 days of the last day of camp....unfortunately, I'll have left 9 days earlier.

I don't feel like imposing on my friends - if I don't have to - so what would be the best way to deal with this? Are there cards that work in the states? Are there banks here that have branches in the US? Do I need to sign something to give a friend permission to wire me money from my own account? Right now, my account is with CHB bank.

Some KEB branches will give you an international card that will work outside of Korea, others say they can' give them to you. It's worth a try though, since I've got an international card and have used it in Canada fairly recently

Do you use internet banking now?
You might be able to transfer the money out to your US bank account this way; I think a friend (who is also with CHB) has done it.
This way, at least you can totally empty out your bank account, which you probably won't be able to do with just an international ATM card.
