Oh, Hiddink. Is there anything you can't do?

Well,
some luck and some guts finally paid off.
I think the 1-0 loss in Uruguay set up the scene for a home victory and World Cup playoff.

4 years ago, Australia played at home first which gave Uruguay a home run to the World Cup.

8 years ago, they lost on the away goal rule to Iran.

As an Australian myself, I am happy to finally see them through. I think Australia will improve in the World Rankings as well as have a well needed financial boost.

Absolutely awesome. I managed to catch the last 20 minutes of extra time and penalties via a live stream. Tremedous performance and at long last after so many heart-breaking, last hurdle-fallen attempts we've made it back to the World Cup. (Seems we can't make WC finals unless they're in Germany!)

Mark Schwarzer's second penalty save was the stuff of legends. Guus Hiddink is genius and now a national hero in three different nations.

This one was for the late Johnny Warren. Well done boys and good luck in Germany!

Congrats Aussies!!

Saw the Korean game...I really like the new coach. He's trying out different combinations of players...good idea! And he shows SOME emotion...not like the former coach!

Anyone know when Korea is playing again? (Links to a good website that lists games appreciated!! Korean language links are ok!)

Yep.

It was special (that one was for Brooce Macaveney). Great game. Guus is a very smart cookie. The Uras were hassling Chipperfield all over the park. Guus threw Kewel on at about 38min and Oz got the goal within 2 minutes of the interchange. The crowd was the thing that got me. I heard 87,000, and that's about 80,000 more than I'd ever seen at a game in Oz. It was enormous. This support means so much to the success of the team. All hail the new Soccer Australia. Cleaning out the ranks in admin was the best thing they ever did, and we owe Johnny Warren a lot of gratitude for getting the ball rolling there. Go the 'roos.

Wangja you seem to have forgotten the previous 20 years where they've taken us to school at practically every sport!
