***Posting this for a friend who does not have a Daves ESL account yet***
the school i signed with closed down... new ownership has taken over...so, does anyone know if that means...
1- that i'm 'legally' illegal in this country... ? if yes - are my options the following- ?
a: take a puddle jumper/ferry to japan, and get a 6 month canadian tourist visa before the E2 expires in 14 days... or
b: wait for the E2 to die before i swim across for that 6 mos tourist visa... any ideas at all...?
c: another option i haven't thought of... p.s. going back to canada is not an option right now...
2- that i'm 'purely' illegal in this country...? if yes - are my options the following- ?
a and b: as above
c: stay in korea and don't travel outside for the next 4 months at which point i was going to leave anyways...
d: leave korea and get a job elsewhere... where else?
3- with regards that ferry to japan... what's the cost of that cdn tourist visa.? how long does it take.?
as much as i love speculation and wild imaginations, i, unfortunately, do not have the time or unlimited internet access to read much other than the truth/close to the truth/real facts/an experience you've had or know someone has had... |

Two questions:
1. With whom did you sign the contract? The school (perhaps a company) or an individual?
2. Who is the sponsor for your visa? Again, the school (perhaps a company) or an individual? |

Tell your friend to go here:
http://efl-law.org/ , register and go to the forums. There is an emergency category for people who have immediate problems and they are really good at responding quickly. The main admin is a lawyer and is definitely in the know about this industry in Korea. |
