Koreans give to charity all the time. I'm not saying another lesson for the kids wouldn't be a good idea though. |

Ok, I'll bite. What is a Christmas hamper? Is that when you anonymously put together a package of presents for a poor family? |

A Christmas Hamper usually is a food parcel of delicious and expensive christmas-only food.
I am sending my mum a christmas hamper for christmas. |

That's my take on it too tzechuk.
Perhaps the op meant to call it something else.
Good idea about sending mum a hamper, though it seems odd sending christmas goodies back home when there is such a better selection there. |

Hater Depot hit it. When I was a kid and we assembled packages for less fortunate families which included toys, clothes and food (ususally non-perishables) and these were called Christmas hampers. Maybe its a candian thing but christmas hampers can refer to either that package u are sending ur mom or putting together something for a poor family.
Call em what u will but is this done at all in Korea? Can it be done? Or is this just a bad idea of bringing over another western concept? |

I am ordering it online from a company in Yorkshire.
My mum lives alone. Dad died 18 months ago - mum said no more keepsakes. So food it is. |
