Yes ajassi...they will not get in the way of you supporting your children...of course not and if they gave you the "go ahead" then its smooth sailing as they make the labor rules.... Rolling Eyes

I'm on an F-4 visa
I checked about a year ago at two different offices about privates (one provincial, and the main office). They both told me that it was technically illegal, but they would never penalize me for supporting my wife and kids. They told me I should go ahead and do it, as long as my employer doesn't mind.

They didn't say anything about a new law. . .

thats correct it is illegal..
even for koreans its illegal you need to be registered.. and then there are still some flaws in there..

Right. It's illegal if you don't register and legal if you do register. What flaws are you talking about? It's working great for my wife.

Ajassi, the law is kind of new (maybe 2 years) and it's not really an immigration law. So, they probably didn't know much about it.

If you are still concerned about doing it legally, I'd suggest you go to the Ministry of Education with your diploma and try to register. If you succeed don't bother telling immigration about it.

For an f-4 visa do you have your workplace listed on your alien registration card?

hundred grand in the bank

If you were teaching privates illegally, why would that person have $100,000 in a Korean bank. If you are not following the letter of the law, you should not keep your money in Korea for a long time.
