VanIslander, you still in on this project?
I am scheduled to hit 50 K tomorrow, according to the spread sheet, but I'm thinking Tuesday is more reasonable.
I have barely read a thing that I've written so far (yeah, that means there will be some inconsistencies that will need cleaning up during the editing process), and am looking forward to seeing what I actually wrote!!! I was going to read it all once I hit 50K, but now I think I'm going to keep going and not do any reading or editing until the story has some kind of conclusion. |

| Pretty much the same plan for me CM. Finish the story then go over it with a fine tooth brush. |

And GO went I!
I finished 50 K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If my husband wasn't passed out from jet lag I'd insist he share a glass of wine with me. But since he's not, I guess I'll just have to share with my dog.
Still have to keep up the pace to finish the story by the end of the month though.... |

Congrats CM!
I feel like I'm lagging so far behind you guys with my measly 34K
Dan, this is for you... I wrote this during one of my word wars so it's a bit messy...

I was surprised. There was Thag, sitting right there in the sun, just three feet away from me outside the cafe, sipping his latte and with a bored looking woman. Usually Patty and I gave nicknames to all the guys we dated, but Thag didnt require one as his real name was synchronistic with his Neanderthalish behaviour.
His name was Doctor Jeffery P. Thag and we went on a blind date that my parents forced me into. My mother thought it would be wonderful if I dated a doctor, something perhaps to tell her lady friends at Yoga. Thag was the youngest son of a building contact of my dads. I dont know how the subject came up, perhaps dad was worried about me and my spinster ways at the ripe old age of 24 and he suggested to his contact that they get their kids together to see what would happen.
What a disaster! How on earth the man had a medical degree was beyond me. I pitied any patient who had the misfortune of being attended to by Thag. I thought it would be best if he took on a role as a coroner, far away from living beings and was allowed only to work on dead bodies or one of those research people experimenting on cadavers.
He had absolutely no personality to speak of and was interested in only trying to impress me with vomitous stories from the ER. He talked in a monotone with his eyes downcast and grunted his yes or no answers. It was really difficult to tell the difference between his yes grunt and his no grunt. Just thinking about the kinds of grunts hed make during other recreational activities was enough to make me skip dessert and head home at 9:30pm on a Saturday night. |

9960 words to go... I just cracked the BIG four oh , but I won't finish the whole novel by the end of the month. I think I'm only about 40 percent there. |

Thank you Dan, and yes, it does!!!
Congrats on crossing 40 K WB!!!
I'm starting to think that I might not be able to finish my novel by the end of the month either, but I'm going to skip to the end if I have to, so that I can say that my first draft is finished (with a big hole in it!) |

I don't think i am even going to bother finishing mine. Or if I do I might cut out a bunch of stuff and finish it up a great deal shorter than I thought. I am going to chalk up this experience as a good learning experience and move onto my next writing project of a bit more serious nature.
