Actually I think thats an astonishing record, a noteworthy post.
27 days is a long time. But in "comfortable enough conditions" (ie not running in hot weather every day) hunger strikers have survived up to 73 days.
Mahatma Gandhi, the famous nonviolent campaigner for India's independence, survived 21 days of total starvation while only allowing himself sips of water.

How long can a person retain their sanity though when faced with an apparently hopeless, deadly situation for day after day???
