Thats the Chinese embassy in Jongno.
The Vietnamese embassy is north of Jongno in a station the name I don't recall anymore. Once out of the exit, it takes another 15-20 minute to walk (or short taxi ride) up a steep hill. You might want to do a seach for it on the internet with exact directions - I can't remember the specific details.
Visas take about 4 business days and costs around $40 - something like that.

Really? I thought that I had walked by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UN village in Hannam. It said Vietnam Embassy on it. This was a year ago. Has it moved? |

Unless you have an invitation, you can't go to the embassy which is by Sungkyunkwan University. You have to go to Vietnam airlines or some travel agent. Vietnam airlines is the cheapest. It took 5 days and 44,000 won. It is near city hall. Just do a search for it, it isn't hard to find. I tried going to the embassy myself and they just said to go to Vietnam airlines. Good luck. |

The easiest way to get a Vietnamese visa is to have the travel agent your purchased your plane tickets from process the visa for you.
The visa isn't cheap though. |

Where is Vietnam airlines? I was planning to go to the embassy in December to get a visa.
Does anyone know if it's possible to do an expidited visa in Bangkok, meaning go in one day and pick it up the next? |

Thanks for the tip. I'm getting my travel agent to do it and the visa is costing 60,000 won for a single entry 30 day one. You have to specify your date of entry to and 30 days starts from then. |

I just talked to the Vietnamese embassy. They told me to come to the embassy in Jongno. If you want to call them try 02-734-7948.
The visa is 67,000 over 5 business days or 87,000 over 2. |

Yeah, I don't know about this only by invitation thing. I just walked through the gate, passed over my documents, filled in the form and they couriered the passport with visa back to me. They said 5 days but I got it in 3 and it cost sixty odd. |

Now I have just talked to someone in the VN embassy and they said that, yes, I could come in and get a visa, for 42,000 won, and that it would be processed and my passport returned to me in one hour. Now lets see if this is going to work..... Oh, it seems this is only for visits of up to 15 days - and that's what I'm doing. One photo requred, open 9:30-12:30, then again 2:30-5:30 M-F. |

I paid about 60 or 65 grand won and it took a week with a travel agency (over a year ago). When in VN a monthlong visa cost about $25 and a 6 month "business" one between $100-$125, available at travel agents... no need to leave the country
for more (or more accurate) info maybe www.mekongesl.com can help |

Bangkok is the easiest place to get one. Overnight in fact. |

The easiest thing to do is to call them and ask your questions:
