There are two kinds of "uni jobs".
1. Most unis have a "language center". Languages centers are hagwons owned by the university. I did a one-year stint at one of these, and the conditions were appalling. Much worse than the private hagwon I had worked at before. The language center contract included two months' vacation - one month in summer, one in winter. This sounded great - but! We were not allowed to make any travel arrangements until we had been told whether we would have e.g., July or August as our vacation, and we were not told this until June 30. Yes, I'm sure you could get a job at a language centre, but you might be better with your middle-school girls.
2. Some English, and other, university departments hire native speakers as "visiting professors". No, you're not likely to get a visiting professorship. Would you write the University of Southampton and say - "I've got a BA and one year's teaching experience with middle school girls. How about a lectureship?"?
If you're serious about staying here a while and working at a uni, the best thing might be to try find a not-to-bad language center for a few years, while you do an MA. |

Magicwolfman is a known troll here on Dave's... pretty lame but i guess that's how he gets his kicks.
just ignore him and he'll go back to stealing movies off the internest like all good god-fearing people do. |
I am not exactly sure why you are calling me a troll. I am just pointing out to Mr. Blunder that word searches (as he talked about giving to his middle school students) will not be accepted in a University. He probably didnt even photocopy them. Look at his user name, if that is any indication of the "person" we are talking about. |

I know MW is a troll, he has yet to make a single helpful post since he arrived here. A good troll does it with subtlty and tact, I still maintain a half decent troll would make slightly better trolling posts than ones about crosswords and my username, especially when his is magicwolfman.
Its clear from his previous post he's stalking all my posts like a schoolboy with a crush. Might explain his hostility, conflicting sexuality? Just come out of the closet mate and lighten up.
I dont mind the trolling, if this is the life he leads he only deserves pity I hope he likes all the attention he's getting. What I cant stand is that someone makes simple inoffensive requests and he insists of dragging it off topic and making into a thread about him. *sigh* fingers crossed when he finally gets banned he wont come back on an alt. |

Then why keep responding to him?
Me thinks you two should really get a motel room. |

those two in a motel room will either lead to some hot lovin' or a cage match, either way its pay-per-view...hmm, may be a good way to get that "make a movie" idea back...
Blunder, check out MAs online if you really want to be a prof. Might I suggest Macqarrie U of Sydney. (mispelled, no doubt), its good, very reputable, and not too expensive. |
