Cool

okay, try these from Costco:
Tim's Cascade Style Hot! Jalapeno Natural and Artificially Flavored Potato Chips

TRY them!! They'll burn your tongue and lips off, but mm-MM! them's good eats.

And they demand cold beer. They'll have their way with you.

They'll have their way with you!

I should trademark that.

no, really. beef jerky is the food of gods and beer lovers everywhere. Cool

Oh, I agree with that choice of side dish. (Though fond as I am of it, I doubt I'll ever be a serious beefjerky eater in Korea at current prices.) I just meant I didn't think this thread would go anywhere. Seems I was wrong and you're right. (you're fired, but you're right. Razz )

Anyone like those FruitLoop-like things that are puffed into a ball?
Dried anchovies dipped in red pepper paste, too.

I can do the ol' fishies in the red-hot-pepper-paste-type-routine-thingy, but I'm not keen on it. Too sharp, too salty, too... "minsok-y".

As for the first item, good grief, do you mean those bowls of sugary-sweet, multi-coloured, puffed cereal-looking things? ewww! I put those in the same category as the inimitable _fruit plate_.

Apples, bananas, grapes and pineapple + tall frosty mugs of beer = BLEEECHHHH Mad

good idea. perhaps we should redirect the content of this thread to, 'when is it the best time to have a beer or few?' you know, like they did in the 'word change game' thread. Laughing

the second best time for me to have a beer is right after vigorously exercising. after a good skate, inline or on ice, riding my bike or just after working it at the gym is my favorite time to have a few. Cool

So now, what is this little thread change proposal all about, hmmmm?
"When's the best time to have a beer"? Confused Mad
That's what I say to this new world order: Confused and Mad !

Listen here and listen well. There are two -- exactly two -- times when a beer goes best.

1) When you've been doing something difficult, labourious, repetitive, fun, interesting or romantic and then find that you'd like to take a little break. (<-- that part to be read in a pissy, cloying, sarcastic tone)

or,

2) When you've been doing nothing. A beer is the way to take the edge off doing sweet eff-all.
