I was wondering if anyone else has this. It's a letter from KT Powertell saying they joined up with a company called Telefree Co. to offer 11,000 won a month for unlimited calling to Canada,USA, and China on land and mobile. For you everybody else that comes from the other countries (UK, Ireland etc minus South Africa) you pay 22,000 a month (land line only). Pretty sweet deal I think. FOr inquiries in English send an e-mail to [email protected] with your name and phone number to be registered. They offer 4 days free service too.. This might put a bind on phone card sales.. Korean: 1688-1793.

Why don't you just use internet phone? It's dirt cheap and the quality is pretty good. I've talked for an hour and it cost me less than a dollar. The one I use is called PC Call.
Another option is MSN Messenger. You can do audio for free and if you both have a webcam you can actually see each other. You can talk forever and never pay a cent. It's how I keep in touch with my family.
Who needs international calling cards? |

I know of those ideas but the thing being my parents don't own a computer (not very technologically savy) and same with my relatives whom i would talk to. Otherwise I would use one of those options. I always talk to my friends on msn all the time but again, can't talk to my folks etc. |

PC Call doesn't require technologically savvy people on the other end. You're the only one who needs to know how to use a computer. You dial their landline phone number and all they have to do is pick up the phone. Four cents a minute to Canada, three cents a minute to the US. You pay by credit card and just keep charging up as you use the time. $25 can get you a huge amount of talking time.
I use this for the people who don't have or know how to use a computer. I use MSN for the people who do (and thankfully my parents have a webcam and can use it).
It's a great system. http://www.pccall.com |
