Classes over 8 students have proved a bit difficult. I get a lot of "jamie up da" (not fun). "Bingo" is sometimes OK. Word searches work sometimes with some classes. I like some card games, though need two decks for a big group. I really dislike these classes that just want "conversation" but can barely understand or speak English. You try talking to them and as they don't understand and cannot respond or don't really want to speak a word of English because of embarrassment or whatever, it is a pointless thing to have a bookless or material-less class and just "conversation." Hence the need for activities. But man some of these middle school and some elementary kids are hard to please. Usually I find the elem kids easier to entertain. They laugh at silly crap more easily. The middles are too cool for that, cynical and burned out at times, at the ripe old age of 12 or 13.

This is an active speaking game for older children all the way up to adults.

Everyone sits in a circle, with one person standing in the middle. On the board you write sentences like "I am a _____" "I have a _______" "I am wearing _______" "I live in ______," as well as the negatives.

The person in the middle must say a sentence that pertains to them, such as "I am wearing black shoes." All those who are wearing black shoes must stand up and change seats, quickly, with the person in the middle grabbing one of the open seats. One person is left without a chair, and must stand in the middle. Repeat.

A great game, which can get really creative. Focuses on speaking and listening skills.
