I've got cable, which I use for my newsfix, mainly. Perhaps catching Survivor or Oprah if I'm home.

I want to set up my "entertainment centre" around a computer, as most of what I really watch is downloaded, but I'd like to keep the big-ass tv set hooked up, preferably in the guest room.

Is it possible to split a cable hookup so that it will go simultaneously into a normal tv and also into a tv-enabled monitor (also hooked up to the entertainment computer?)

Do they sell cable splitter/extenders? Will it work if I just hook them both up? Or will I need another kind of set-top box to handle the feed?

Yes its possible but TV type monitors are not that good and are very expensive. Its just cheaper to buy a TV Tuner card at the electronic market and run TV into your comp, they usually have remotes as well. I've seen as cheap as 30k won and as expensive as 130k won (This was at Yongsan). 50k Won is a pretty good deal.
