Yup, they have my arc card + pasport and all the paperwork needed to get the visa. They said to come get the stuff on the 6th of December. I haven't gotten a call about the stupid interview yet. I doubt that I will.

I think they call for an interview if they are going to deny the visa to someone. So far, no one called me.

I think the immigration people always like to have a reason in their back pocket to deny someone a visa. The 30 million thing and the interview are two instances that quickly come to mind.

The painter dude that set up show in the Gecko's building was always having problems with them even though he got his visa through his embassy (they hooked him up). They tried making him sign a blank piece of paper stating he would leave on such and such a date. Hehe not blank, but a plain piece of A4 that the dude wrote the dates on. This is when he was renewing it for a year.

I know another guy that can only get his f2-1 renewed six months at a time. They just don't like him for some reason.

So much goes on appearance here that I actually dress up when I go there. If you are scum bag I am sure they use one the above mentioned excuses.

Ya, but on the whole I would have to say that Korea has been mostly fair to me. One thing I never mentioned before was that I was 4 days last on my first visa in Korea. He deleted that year but it didn't affect me. The E2 people can get this visa if they have been here 7 years. But any violations at all result in deletions of years. He was kind of stupid about it. He sounded like it was a serious crime and made a show of deleting my year, then he was fine. All in all, he was a weird guy. I think the immigration guy was being a d**k when he mentioned an interview.
