Depends what type of card nvidia or ATI.
Rage3d.com has a tool for it.
Nvidia cards just need coolbits enabled (simple registry patch) or You could get nvtune or nvtray guru3d.com |

| it is as long as you stay within range (range can be found on the repsective manufacturers website). EX. nvidia geforce 6600 @ 350MHZ can be overclocked up to 436 without trouble. Above this and you begin to experience difficulties. I would say 425 for this would be safe. |

I just did this the other night with my 6600GT using the overclocking program bundled with the card software. I didn't notice a blind bit of difference.... |

Well, I'm not sure about that. I do know how to see the temp of my card from the nVidia control panel but that would be when the card is idling. How do I see the temp of the card during an intense session of Doom 3? Just quit and look at it quickly before it cools? |

| I don't know, I have a hardware thingy that regulates fan speed and displays 3 temps- it's currently cpu, hdd, and case. My video card is already an overclocked version so I'm not about to fiddle with it. |

I got a 6600. I didn't notice a difference when I overclocked mine,too.
By the way, give Quake 4 a try. It's everything I wanted Doom 3 to be. |
