Outside NA, 20 kg is the standard baggage allowance for economy.
Business class is usually 30 kg and First Class 40 kg.
The standard rule of thumb for cost of excees baggage is 1% of the one way first class fare per kg.
If you are on a full fare ticket, expect little or no problem if your bags are overweight.
If your ticket is deeply discounted, expect them to seek to charge for excess - usually above 25kg, but this depends on airline, staff mood etc etc. |

Travel Agent said you could have one or two bags~ as long as it was under 20 kg. You can also have a carry-on |

Has anyone flown this airline and is there anything I should know about it that is unique when compared to other airlines? This is my first time on it.
Thanks! |
My favorite airline.
Not sure if its always like this.. but you get to choose which movies you want to watch personally on your own screen in front of you. |

I managed to get an increase in luggage on singapore airlines. Call up before hand and have a sob story (might need to be faxed). Got double my allowance. |

I have flown SQ fairly recently and they give 20 kilos as a rule of thumb , It really didnt matter how many pieces you had ( 2 or 3 is normal ). I had 2 pieces which weighted in at about 30- 32 kgs and they didnt seem to mind . |

Try and join their frequent flier programme. That should give you an extra 10kg. That's what my travel agent reccomends. |

In addition to the carry-on, you should get one "personal item," right? I have a collection of the biggest purses specifically for flying... |
