Telling other countries to tear down their walls, and then building one in your own country, is an embarassment. This is a brutal solution for the subtle problem of balancing needed labor and managing immigration numbers.

California and Texas were a part of Mexico 150 years ago. The "they don't have a place in my country" argument has limitations.

I've posted this before and now I will do it again.

To end illegal immigration in the US make a zero tolorence policy of fining employers $10,000 for every single illegal working at there buiness/farm/homes. No more and no less, the first farm you bust with 200 illegals will end this problem.

However, this will never happen because Americans love illegals, they want them so they can have cheap fruit and vegetables and clean toilets.

Ok so I'm new to Dave's but I saw this tread and couldn't resist. Unless you've seen the problem 1st hand please don't assume anything about the invasion of America! and tha't's exactly what it is!!!
English 1st and foremost...period. If you want to come to America you follow the rules including those involved in immigrating. I worked in a local County health department for 5 years and saw what the Hispanic influx brought with them. I was thoroughly disgusted with their needy attitudes and expectations that Americans were supposed to learn Spanish and our tax dollars were supposed to educate and immunize their children.
Follow the rules and imigrate like others before, including my ancestors and my immigrant husband (1st generation filipino by the way), pay taxes, and follow the laws of the countlry my ancestors fought to protect and we'll be ok...break them and I'll despise you forever.
Call me racist...but I believe the "wall" should be electrified with pit bulls on the other side. Ring the bell...Dinner anyone???
