Good ones, posters!

(Though James, I'm afraid you lose a few of your points for trying to score political ones. Razz)

And Winnie, I hadn't thought about single words. Wasn't even sure those could be trite. But you've identified four of the very best (worst) of them! ("gawk"? Not sure if I'd call that one trite, but hell, I'll give you that for having pegged "meh" and "methinks", easily the two most wretched of all.)

I am also pleased that you've identified genuine Dave-isms, which aren't simply trite expressions one encounters in the media or private conversation, but specifically those ones we all read (and read and read and read) right here in the Cafe.

Thank you.

Anyone else?

Frankly speaking, at the end of the day, methinks a nauseous expression is...

bozo brain

And JongnoGuru, is your spelling of "nauseous" regional?
That's another thing that annoys me, people correcting my grammar.

No, that was a mistake I made. I meant to say "nautical".

Guru: Seeing 'that being said' in every other thread on Dave's makes me nautical'.
Poster: What?? WTF are you talking about!? Mad
Guru: You know -- nautical. Seasick.

You should really use a colon in that sentence. Wink

Right. Without a colon that sentence will never achieve the required thrust to send it airborne. Damn, didn't anyone take a physics class in university? Surprised

No need. I knew a colon like you would jump in. Laughing

Is that a comment on this thread and its participants?
Or is that your contribution to our list of trite Dave-isms?

Actually, either way it works! Cool
