Hey all,
Ive had my Nikon D70 for about 3 months now, havent really had much time to get out and use it all that much. Bit intimidated by it. To be honest not sure where to start. Gone mad tryin to muck around with the settings, and the online manual. Anyone have some websites for some tutorials? or willing to give a newbie a crash course in person. I have some more spare time coming up in January, and I want to give it a good go.
Especially those with D70's....... |

I wonder if Seoul has those one day workshops with experienced pros teaching them? I know we have them in Phx every so often, was considering taking a class on the weekend sometime.

I have a D70. I think it'd be fun if we had a little Dave's photography trip to some photogenic place in Seoul (Gyongbukgung, etc.).
Intimidated? I mean .. if you just set it to 'P' or use the scene modes, it's pretty easy. If you want to learn about F Stops, Apertures, Focal Lengths, Composition, etc .. than there are many many websites that will help you.
The website I go to is
http://www.fredmiranda.com
t's a site mostly for pros - so the quality of pictures is very high, they have weekly and monthly assignments, and everyone in the forums is really helpful. Don't go there with really newbie questions though -- do some research first. It shouldn't be too hard to find some kind of tutorial online. |

fredmiranda.com is great! I'm a member there. Definitely not for newbies though. Their review section is great, along with the Buy and Sell forum. |

I recommend that newcomers to digital photography buy a simpler camera. |

Thought about that as well, I had been looking at the Canon S2IS, but To get the Nikon was only another 300k. I figure I could grow and learn. My big focus is that I am a sports fanatic, and when I finally go back home, I will be doing tonnes of sports photography..........
I woudl be up for an outing forsure...... anyone else interested, Im sure it wouldnt take much to get me on the ball.
The Auto modes work well, but I know there is more to it. |

I have a Nikon 8400 and have just begun to use manual settings. tend to learn by my mistakes more than anything else. just get out there and try a lot of different things. trial and error is the way to go. I never seem to learn much from manuals, or others advice somehow:) |
