Our new hagwon liar i mean director has refused to sort out our contract our previous contract is now void as the school as been sold. We have been trying to get things sorted since the school was sold a few months ago but with no result. We have now decided to leave as we are illegal and up to our wits end with lies. Do you think we will have any problems leaving the country at immigration as nothing about school being sold etc was reported and as far as they know we are still working for the old school with the visa for the old school which doesnt exist. |

You will have no problems leaving...
Nobody has ever been stopped at immigration because they had quit their job, no matter how many stories you may have heard...
Coming back a second time may be a little difficult though, especially if it is in the near future |

Hand in your ARC or pay for a multi entry visa and you will have no problems. This is from personal experience. |

The only reason they would stop you is if you came here on false docs and immigration had that in their files (like the teachers who got busted as part of the D. Kang fiasco).
A teacher working in Haeundae here in Busan got busted at the airport when he tried to leave. He was here on false docs (had boasted about it...).
He emailed a buddy of mine last month saying he was not back home but had been detained and fined.
In your case, since things seem legal you should have no worries.
Leaving right after pay day are you?

My former boss was in a bit of a tizzy as one of her foreign teacher did a midnight run. He was a huge freak. He was too freakish even for the normally freakish foreign teachers. No one would hang out with him. My ex boss commented "He was having such a horrible time he actually left BEFORE pay day." |

Back in 1998..a teacher at my school left a day before payday!
If yer gonna run like a dog...at least be organized about it. |
