Anyone know how to calculate a Korean birthday from the actual birthdate?

You might try searching the net for a lunar calendar conversion chart. I've seen one there, but don't remember where.

Find out what day they were born. Boom. They were 9 months old when they were born. (Or maybe 10 since the pregnancy lasted 10 months.) Most Koreans who have explained this to me rounded it up to one year. Then, on the first January after that, add another year. That's the Korean age. That's how I, a December baby, became two years old mere weeks after being born.

Actually pregnancy is 10 months (lunar)
40 weeks = 10 four week months.

Thanks everyone for the info. So far, the lunar conversion charts show me a number of things but not how to tell when a person's lunar birthday will be.

A Korean friend was born on Dec. 20th. I know the lunar birthday will be in January some time but not sure on what day in January it falls.

Find Dec. 20 on a solar calendar in the year they were born. Look at the conversion chart for that year. The corresponding date on the lunar calendar will be the lunar birthday. After that, just look at a lunar calendar for next year for that lunar date.

if you know his solar birthday, why do you need to know his lunar? which one does he celebrate or is Dec 20 his lunar birthday?

if dec 20 is his lunar then his birthday solar is 1/19/06
