My boss was telling me that I should go and apply for some special visa - that is some-kind-off long-term-residency visa for foreigners who have lived and worked in Korea more than five consecutive years...

I have never heard of it before, - however am interested (of course) if there is such a visa.

Does anybody know about this visa? or have one? and if there is such a visa - where would I find info about it......? (web site etc)

I know my boss may have just got the info mixed up - (and there may be no such thing) but no hurt in asking around....

If I were you, I'd ask the boss to call your local Immi office and get the details for the kind of visa he is talking about.

In my opinion, it's a good idea for bosses to know a lot about visa regulations. That information impinges on their business.

From my vague understanding, it is the covetted "F-5" visa.

But, in order to snag one of these beauts, you must have the following;

1. Married to a Korean national for more than 5 consecutive years.
2. Have a bank account with approximately 30 million won in it or more.
3. To have some kind of investment in Korea (homeowner, carowner, etc.)

If you meet this criteria, you are eligible for the most prized visa of them all....maybe
