I purchased this baby on the weekend and it's making a word of difference!

Last night, I put some peppermint tea and Bosisto's parrot brand oil of eucalyptus in it and overnight it's magical. In the morning, my wife and I were feeling fine. Usually we wake up to a dry chapped feeling in our nose and throats from the dry air. Today, it was so nice to wake up feeling rejuvenated!!

This is a great toy to get a hold of if you've been suffering from soar throats, bronchitis, etc. My wife & I are feeling much better.

From what I understand (and I'm fairly certain from what I've been told), it also ionizes the air and filters it for you~ taking all of the dust & bacteria out of it.

I highly recommend it!

BTW, it retails for 100,000 won or so. I paid 45,000 for a used one. E-Mart have them on sale for a great price along with other stores. Has anyone else tried them? Any thoughts?

What are they called? How much electricity would that baby use up if you ran it all night long? I'm also occasionaly suffering from dry mouth/sore throat when I wake up in the morning.

a friend of mine put an ionizer in the car that had this perpetual stink.
he said it works through sending minute electric charges that attract and gather particulates in the air... APPARENTLY it acts as an air freshener by doing that...

That's correct. I've had it for about a month and it's been making a world of difference. Putting peppermint tea and or Eucalyptus oil with water has been helpful.It really freshens the air and takes away the dryness. Wish I knew about it a long time ago.

Most particles in the air, including dust and pollution, are positively charged, therefore a negative ion emitter attracts and binds those said particles. Usually those air cleaners (���� ûû �� - I think) also have filters and fans that add to the cleaning process. I'm gonna buy one when I get settled in...

I have a Hauzen Silver Nano Air Purifier w/orig. packaging that I need to sell by mid-January!

Purchased in June this year (450,000 won), it works wonders decreasing dust, eliminating odors, and protecting against the dreaded Yellow Wind.

Eight Settings: Turbo, High, Medium, Low, Auto, Hwang-sa (Yellow Dust), Sleep, (and my favorite) "Bad Smell". Has a 24 hour timer, multiple (heppa) filters which are easy to access and clean, and it's quiet. The main filter will not need to be replaced until June 2006 (at the earliest).

I'm also interested in those "volcanic" lamps (and candles) that I've seen at a few places - including the tourist information office at the Itaewon subway station. I think the large lamps go for about 90,000 won, and the candles are much cheaper (around 20,000 won, I think). They also claim to send out negative ions and purify the air...
