http://www.asiansexgazette.com/asg/korea/korea02news63.htm

"In one case cited, four couples gathered in a singing room in Seocho-dong in Seochop-gu in early October, drinking and singing all together at an hourly rate of 150,000 won. Once mildly drunk, the couples moved to the next room where they had promiscuous "swap sex." "

"In another incident, during the late hours of October 4, an Internet site threw a "lingerie mask party" in a posh bar in the Gangnam area. Some 20 masked couples wearing only scanty inner wear enjoyed a wild party that lasted until the next morning.

The male participants, in their 30s and 40s, were mostly well-to-do professionals including medical doctors and business owners. The female party-goers, according to police, were mostly beautiful and included several models. "

Hmmm...... but if a foreigner tries this in Korea......

Mmm Hmmm, cause the beauty of the women is important to the article.

It said the men were rich, but does that mean we can assume they were overweight and pimply??

Oh, pshaw!

Couples have been taking weekend trips on 'love buses' for years. Then there are the 'key parties' where you toss your apt key in a basket and go home with the honey who draws them out.

Some prosecutor is trying to make headlines for whatever reason.

The only way Korea is 'conservative' in sexual matters is in the foreign language press. A country with 5,000 years of history and professional prostitutes knows what to do with a d***.

The correct term is not 'conservative', but it may be 'hypocritical'.

Difference between an advanced nation and a backwards one. The former does not give a hoot what consenting adults do in private and the latter does.

I thought the quote answered the question.

From the article:
Quote:
The couples range in age from 20 to 50, are highly educated, and have well-paying professional jobs. The police say the couples appear to be normal.

...but inside, they're afflicted with a raging case of flatulence.

I love listening to people - especially Koreans - define 'normal.'

... I thought that was quite a funny description to be given by the police. But then I read this
Quote:

The police say the couples appear to be normal.

... Laughing Laughing Laughing did they have them under observation in their cells or something ???
Quote:

Police estimate that there are about 500 couples enjoying "swapping sex" in the Seoul area alone. Nationally, some 6,000 couples trade their husbands or wives for sexual pleasure.

... and how exactly would they come across these figures ??

So Jagga...by that definition and reply your nation type casting lands the US in the backwards nation category... You might want to redo that definition......

Can you specify a particular nation that does not, from time to time, think it a propos to involve itself between the genitals of two consenting adults?

What I don't get about swapping is the practical details about how it all works...

1. Do you get to choose who you have sex with?

2. What if two people want to have sex with the same person? Do they draw straws? How do they decide? Does it go by seniority?

3. What if you're a cute Korean girl and some ugly stinky Korean man wants so to have sex with you? Can you say no?

4. Do they have protected sex?

I just see so many ways "Swapping" can fail. It's a nice idea in theory, but in actual practise?

I have always thought the Republicans were backward. Weren't they the ones with their panties in a knot? I see no reason at all to redo the definition; it fits perfectly.

Oddly enough, this kind of thing was part of the ethos of the 60s and 70s in America (see the movie 'Ted and Bob and Carol and Alice'), and I think Korean society is reflecting many of the same attitudes of that period. As I have posted elsewhere- read Durkhiem.

And no, I am not a sociology major (or minor) Rolling Eyes
