at my first haggie, I had to remind the boss every payday, but that's because I had a clause in my contract saying that I got paid every two weeks, and I was the only one with that clause. I'd remind the guy in the morning, and get paid in the afternoon.

Yes, that is what I hate. Reminding. "Today is payday. Hello. Today is payday." Don't do it anymore. But, like one poster said before, I'm immature and should accept my medicine. DON'T FARKING PAY ME LATE! You can train you monkey and your monkey can train you.

my director is a scumbag. he is repeatedly late. we've had meetings and discussed it numerous times, but he still pulls his little tricks.

some of the korean teachers at my school are MONTHS behind in their pay...yet they continue to come to work on time, fill out their report cards, etc etc.
i wanted to organize a teacher walkout on friday, but the korean teachers dont have the balls.

anyway, my director was weeks late for my latest pay, so i went into his office last night and gave him an ultimatum...i want my money by thursday 8pm or i dont come in. he gave me his patented line 'i try...'

steve.

Well, there you go. "Try" your best. Don't let that weenie *beep* you around. I'll bet he's a weenie. Sounds like it. Hard to talk to because he's a weenie. Weenies don't have eyes and mouths.

Someone I know who runs a private academy told me it's almost impossible to find a foreign teacher to work for her who cares about something besides money (i.e. teaching).

Could this perhaps be because, apart from the odd enthusiastic newbie, no one who cares about teaching wants to work at a private academy?

Isn't the spinelessness of Korean employees just soooooooooo frustrating? I really feel for you. All it would take is dedication to upholding contracts and teaching effectively and employees could completely turn hogwans around. *If* they cared and had some spine. People talk about the waygooking being treated like second-class employees but in my experience it was the Koreans who were the real door mats.

Good luck with your situation.
