Certaintly does. Five years. Teaching umpteen million students at once. Yes sir, yes sir. Three bags full, sir.

er Jacl, about the horse manure pay, 1.8 million or 3 million?

Starting salary of 1.8 or 1.9 is respectable plus you get free housing.

teaching 40 + kids, yes it does sound chaotic but I only do that for 15 hours a week. so not too bad. The other 8 hours are teaching the advanced kids and teachers. (max = 20 in a class) but not all of them turn up so sometimes I get 10 or 15, now that's an ideal size. Plus, when I teach elementary school or middle school teachers, they pay me in excess of million won for making up manucript and over time.

jacl,

Are you still envious of public schools? Worknplay.com is doing some recruiting for EPIK right now or you can just wait a bit and then visit the EPIK homepage.

Dude/Dudette (still can't tell), if you read the topic of the thread you shouldn't even be posting what you are.. but troll away jacl...

Dont know if its nationwide (I suspect so) but our provincial epik supervisor announced today there'll be a 100000/mo raise next year across all levels plus an additional 100000/mo for rural positions (on top of the current bonus for non-urban teachers).

The base rates on the epik website ( http://epik.knue.ac.kr/ ) might seem small but extra incentives & bonuses add up. A good percentage of people I know in the program also work legit extra classes & 3 million+ a month overall isnt uncommon.

But you have to fit in & deliver.

No, I'm not envious. Yes, I was trolling.

I serioulsy don't know how you guys/gals do it. Anything over 10 students baffles me. I look at 15 students as 50% more money. I look at 40 students and I think "400 % more". The public schools are getting paid for your services. You are getting a very little percentage. Anyway, I could be wrong. That's just what I think.

Anyway, no offense. I was just joking. I'm sure your job is fine.
