Korea a world beater in bacteria discoveries
Korea has emerged as a world power in researching microscopic organisms, the basis of the biotechnology industry. Citing a report in the latest edition of the International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, a British publication, the Ministry of Science and Technology said yesterday that Korea ranked first in a survey measuring the number of bacteria species discovered by 31 countries this year. Korea has found 68 new species of bacteria while Japan, which came in second, discovered 59. The United States came third, with 44 new types of bacteria to its name.

So that's why they never wash their hands after going to the bathroom! More bacteria available to harvest for scientific research!
They should get the university students out on the sidewalks with a spatula scraping up all the lung-butter. Finally a use for the smoking, hocking adjosshis! Yay! Their life has meaning now! |

They probably found these 'new bacterium' in the cups used at the martial arts schools.
You know...the cup that a few 100 kids use every day. The one that's washed twice a week. |

They looked in the Kimchi and it wasn't from China. They found huge numbers of bacteria in Kimchi when they tested it....then said it was from China. I have had many bathroom problems after eating Kimchi and now I know why. |

In light of recent news about the Korean scientific community... I wonder how many of these bacteria will turn out to be completely made up? Unlike stem cells though, Korean old-man-loogy bacteria are not so exciting that scientists are going to volunteer to try and replicate the work! LOL |
